Here is the cycle of 4ths, this is a wonderful device to use when practicing scales, chords, and arpeggios, It a more musical sounding approach to learning as opposed to being chromatic such as, here's the major scale in C, now Im gonna play it in C#, now in D etc.....

To use it as a practice too you should first memorize this cycle, you should be able to say it without even needing to look at the chart. Once it is memorized you can start using it to practice with.

I recommend starting at the lowest point on the neck and progressing up running through the cycle in one key and then descending in the next key once you have run out of positions. Or vice versa.

Other highlights of this tool include:

- clockwise(4ths) spells out ii V I progressions which are essential to Jazz.

-counter clockwise it shows I IV V progressions which are essential to rock, pop country.

-clockwise it shows the keys that have flats

-counter clockwise it shows the keys that have sharps
